Fishery Information

Anchor Meadow Fishery has been running for over 20 years, and it seems nearly impossible to keep up with all of the record-breaking fish coming out of this venue. While no British records have surfaced from Anchor Meadow Fishery yet, the fishery can barely keep track of the massive fish being caught here. If you love some river fishing and want to target some of the biggest fish in the country, you have to check out Anchor Meadow Fishery.

What size do the fish go to?

An 18lb 1oz barbel was caught at Anchor Meadow Fishery very recently. This is just shy of the national record. There are also some extremely hard-fighting carp, tench and bream in this stretch of river, along with some massive winter pike. The weights of these fish aren’t known too well, but this stretch of river has always produced monsters, so the pike could be insanely big.

What tactics work well?

There are fast stretches of the river and slower sections too. If you want carp or tench, the slower sections are the best to target. The faster waters are perfect for pike and barbel. The barbel in this water are extremely hard-fighting, some taking over half an hour to land. Closed feeders are a solid choice for the big ones; they love meat too.

What facilities are on site?

There are toilets near Anchor Meadow Fishery, there is also accommodation close by the river as well, and night fishing is available.

Is parking available?

Parking is available.
