A fishery in the Cotswold Water Park, Churn Pool Fishery offers excellent fishing opportunities in a glorious location.

Easy to reach from the main motorway network, it appeals to local anglers as well as those from further afield looking for a prime carp fishing experience.

Churn Pool Fishery occupies the site of an old gravel pit and is now a 4.5 acre fishing lake stocked with carp, some of which are now 30 years old. It is regarded as a challenging yet rewarding water.

The lake can be booked for the exclusive use of up to five anglers, and booking is in advance only. There are plentiful swims around the lake in a choice of excellent settings.

Dogs are welcome at Churn Pool Fishery with care taken of course, and there are no day ticket bookings. The fishery can be booked only for exclusive group usage.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp in Churn Pool are well-established and mature, with plentiful fish in the 20lbs+ range and a number weighing more than 30lbs. There are known to be three 40lbs-plus carp in the lake, with the current record being a 42lbs example.

What tactics work well?

Stealth is advised by those who have fished at Churn Pool, and bait sold on site is recommended.

What facilities are on site?

The facilities at Churn Pool Fishery are impressive. In addition to the neatly designed swims there is an on-site bait shop selling a range of quality options. The ‘Angler’s Outhouse’ is included in bookings for groups and houses a kitchen and proper toilet facilities as well as bait storage and running water. There is also a fully-equipped two-bedroom lodge that can be booked for an additional fee.

Is parking available?

Parking is available for guests at Churn Pool Fishery and is within easy walking distance of the lake.
