Fishery Information

Situated in Newbury, Berkshire, Donnington Grove Country Club offers an excellent location for fly fishing. There is a lake and river, both of which can be fished on. However, anglers must take note that only fly fishing is permitted.

The season operates from mid-April to late September, but some fly fishing for Grayling is permitted during the winter months. The venue has become notorious for its spectacular stock of Brown Trout, many of which grace the tables of local restaurants.

What size do the fish go to?

Brown and Rainbow Trout are frequently landed in the double figures, with larger fish reaching 18lbs.

What tactics work well?

Both dry and wet fly tactics work extremely well. Angler should also utilise fry pattens and small beaded flies.

What facilities are on site?

There is an on-site tackle and bait shop, which provides all the essentials as well as offering a range of the latest equipment. Tuition can be purchased from the venues’ qualified fishing instructor.

Safe and secure parking spaces are available to guests.
