Fishery Information
A robust, modern, and hospitable day ticket spot, FLE Fishery is comprised of five lakes just outside of Ampfield. This is a well-managed, well-designed facility that has plenty of extra activities on location.
Horseshoe Lake is set up for pleasure anglers. This spot features eight large swims, some of which have been established as doubles so anglers can fish alongside friends. Carp of some significance have been known to patrol the lake. Night fishing is available.
There are two FLE match lakes. These are 100 metres long and 14 metres wide, with fishing opportunities on a day ticket if competitions aren’t booked. These lakes have 20 platforms and can be hired out for groups or parties.
FLE Top Lake is great for intimate fishing. The waters are on the small side and home to ghost carp, as well as some common and mirror carp.
Kingfisher Pond is ideal for younger anglers and those with limited mobility. This spot is free for those under the age of 16. FLE Fishery supplies seat boxes, nets, whip poles, and unhooking mats free of charge.
What size do the fish go to?
Ghost carp up to 20 pounds can be found in FLE Top Lake.
The match lakes have carp reaching up to 13 pounds, with plenty of big bream, tench, perch, ide, roach, crucians, and rudd ready to rumble.
Carp of specimen proportions roam Horseshoe Lake.
What tactics work well?
Lessons can be booked at FLE Fishery.
There are general rules for day ticket fishing, most of which are fairly universal among angling spots.
Barbless hooks only. Sacking and retaining is not allowed. Only shop pellets are permitted.
Break, fake bait, and nuts are banned.
What facilities are on site?
There is a tackle and bait shop at FLE Fishery. They offer plenty of top-quality gear and bait, including fresh maggots and worms.
When anglers tire of being out on the water, there is laser clay shooting.
Is parking available?
Ample parking is available.
