Fishery Information

Fishing is on tap at the Rooksbury Mill Local Nature Reserve, located in Andover right near Watermills Park.

It seems Rooksbury Mill was once a trout fishery of some renown. Times have changed and this land is now under the purview of the Test Valley Council, with restocking and management duties falling to the organization. There are various schools of thought as to how effective this has been and how good the fishing is at this spot.

Rooksbury Mill is a river-fed spot of about six and a half acres, with a dozen swims. Access to this location is straightforward and the disabled angler has been heavily considered. Three of the swims are DDA compliant.

That said, it is a nature reserve and there are considerations. Care must be taken at this spot at all times to maintain the integrity of the environment. Nothing may be removed from the grounds or left behind.

Fish caught in Rooksbury Mill include tench, carp, roach, rudd, perch, bream, and pike.
