Fishery Information

Situated in the tranquil setting of Haig, Wigan, Forsters Pools is a stunning farmland fishery that offers ideal sport for both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The site consists of a total of 4 lakes, all of which are well stocked and provide a variety of fishing features. Pegs are all well-spaced out, with several of them affording easy access for both the disabled and elderly angler. On top of being an idyllic venue for fishing, the grounds also host a variety of different wildlife.

The waters are restocked on a regular basis and are home to a healthy quantity of Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Perch.

What size do the fish go to?

Tench and Bream tend to average between 5-8lbs. Carp are commonly brought in with a weight between 10-15lbs, as well as the occasional larger Carp at around 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

Using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn can be very effective. Pellets and boilies should be considered during the warmer months. Anglers have also found that using luncheon meat as bait tends to yield fantastic results.
