Fishery Information

Ashfield Angling Club manages Gunthorpe Complex, a former and now flooded gravel pit of around 30acres. This is a perfect habitat for carp and is now an established fishing spot.

Located in Gunthorpe in Nottinghamshire, the fishing lakes are easily accessible from the local road network. Notably, the Complex also includes a stretch of the River Trent.

Within the water are sizeable carp plus large bream, tench and very large pike. There are plentiful pegs to fish from at what is a mature and popular fishery.

This is a beautiful location to fish with overhanging trees and fine scenery on the Gunthorpe Hall Estate, although we cannot confirm whether the lakes are suitable for disabled anglers.

What size do the fish go to?

There are believed to be carp in the Complex in excess of 30lb with many in double figures. Other coarse species are also present as good sized fish.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities on site, but plenty of shops and places to eat in the adjacent town of Gunthorpe.

Is parking available?

Parking is available within the Gunthorpe Complex.
