Fishery Information

Hendre Lake is a large body of water with a large number of fish and an island in the middle.  A short jutting spit of land extends from the island, allowing anglers to fish close to the island for native carp.

A gravel bar extends along the length of the lake’s edge, and the adjoining railroad tracks attract a large number of silver fish, notably Bream, making it a popular spot for match anglers to fish.

By implementing a continuous re-stocking program, the fisheries management team guarantees that this lake is constantly filled with a large number of high quality specimen fish.

A special feeding program is put in place to ensure that these fish remain in excellent condition and achieve their maximum weights. They also provide anglers with a vast number of fish to target, with carp weighing up to 30 pounds being the most common species.
