Marstons Pit Lake

Address

52 Marston Rd, Marston Moretaine, Lidlington, Bedford MK43 0PP, United Kingdom

Fishery Information

Martson Pit was built by the brick industry back in the 1950s to use clay to build the bricks. As the brick industry declined the pit was left to fill up with water. After that, it was stocked with fish and taken over by Ampthill Angling Club.

The lake has been owned by the angling club now for over 30 years and all the fish that are in there were put in by the club. It holds some good stocks of bream, tench and carp. There’s also plenty of silverfish which means there is something for everyone in this lake.

Access around the lake is good as there’s a man-made gravel track going around a lot of the lake. This means you don’t have to walk far with your fishing tackle.

What size do the fish go to?

  • Roach 2lb
  • Tench 12lb
  • Rudd 2lb
  • Chubb 2lb
  • Bream 8lb
  • Carp 38lb
  • Pike 24lb
  • Cat Fish 46lb

What tactics work well?

Groundbait works well to attract the fish in. Maggots work well over these.

If it’s the big carp you are after then use boilies.

What facilities are on-site?

There are no facilities on-site.

Is parking available?
