Fishery Information

For many anglers, the River Nadder holds a place in their heart as one of the finest rivers to fish in the UK. There are many types of fishing available on the River Nadder too. From fly fishing for trout to lure fishing for some hard fighting pike and everything in between. This particular stretch of the river is operated by Tisbury Angling Club and is mainly fished by coarse anglers. Their hope is to catch a stunning chub, barbel, roach, tench, bream or rudd that calls this river home.

What size do the fish go to?

There are some trout in this river to about 1.5lbs. There are also some really good-sized pike, bream, tench, barbel, chub and a great deal more. If it swims, it is in the River Nadder, and it is usually massive. Some local anglers even say there are some nice, wild carp in the river that are incredibly hard to catch but promise a fantastic fight for those who are willing to put in the work.

What tactics work well?

Closed feeders are always a solid choice on rivers. Using maggots in the feeder is a go-to option for most, but some have used chopped worms to great effect here. Of course, waggler fishing is a go-to for many anglers on the river, and this can also produce good results in most of the river.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities too close to the river, but the river does run through Tisbury, so there are cafes, pubs and public toilets close by.

Is parking available?

Parking is available in public car parks along the river.
