Fishery Information

Steeple Langford Lakes are controlled and operated by Salisbury District Angling Club. There are two lakes on site that are connected. They are spring-fed gravel pits with an average depths of 3-5ft. The bottom is mainly silt, but there are some gravels bars to find, so plumbing around is vital on these lakes. The angling club is putting a lot of work into this water at the moment, removing weed and creating clear hotspots to fish. If you can get on a hotspot, these lakes will reward you.

What size do the fish go to?

There isn’t much info about carp sizes on this lake on the angling club website, but there are some stunning fish in this water. These lakes do have some lovely-sized carp that any carp angler would love to have in their net. There is also plenty of bream, tench, roach, rudd, perch and some eels too.

What tactics work well?

These lakes are fished almost exclusively by carp anglers in the hope of catching a few of the big residents in the lakes. There are a few small islands on both lakes that are well worth targeting. However, finding a clear spot in open water where you can present your bait perfectly is considered the better option on these waters. A good carpet of bait on these spots and a couple of bright bottom baits could land you a monster.

What facilities are on site?

There are currently no facilities at this lake, but there are guest tickets available to member’s friends.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
