Fishery Information

Situated in Samlesbury, Lancashire, the River Bibble presents and ideal location for both the novice and keen angler who are seeking out Trout. The site is located just off of the M6 at J61, with tickets being available for purchase at the nearby petrol station. Anglers are permitted to fish anywhere they like, with the only condition being that they must have purchased a ticket. Pedestrian access can be found via a footpath at the back of Alston Farm. The waters are home to a selection of Barbel, Chub and Trout.

Anglers must take note of the electrical power cables on location, there are clear signposts which state where fishing is forbidden for safety reasons.

What size do the fish go to?

Chub tend to be in the region of 2-5lbs, with Barbel frequently reaching a weight of 12lbs. Trout are commonly landed in double figures, as well as the occasional larger Pike at 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

Standard river tactics are generally effective, with worms, maggots and sweetcorn providing the best baits.

What facilities are on site?

Clean and accessible toilet facilities are available at the nearby service station.

Is parking available?

There are free parking spaces for anglers less than 100 m away from the riverbank, near the local service station.
