Fishery Information

Located in the serene countryside setting of St. Michaels on Wyre, Lancashire, the River Wyre is a 1.5 mile stretch of water that provides good sport for both the beginner and keen mixed angler.

Access to the site can be gained via a dirt track near the residential areas on Old Lancaster Road. Anglers are asked to be respectful by not blocking off access when parking. It is also worth noting that loose cattle are often roaming these areas. The river is a hotspot for a variety of fish, including bream, Roach, Perch, Sea Trout and Salmon.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream roach and Perch tend to come in between 3-7lbs, as well as Barbel in the 10lbs region. Sea Trout and Salmon frequently weigh in well into double figures.

What tactics work well?

Standard river tactics generally work well, with worms, maggots and sweetcorn making the best baits.

Is parking available?

Parking is available nearby, but anglers are asked to be respectful of local residents and should be careful not to block off any access points.
