Fishery Information

Featuring coarse fishing all year round, Rockford Lake is a big place at 55 acres in size and depths of up to a dozen feet.

Formerly a Cemex syndicate fishery, Rockford Lake is now under the purview of the Ringwood and District Anglers Association. Fishing is available from dawn until one hour until sunset, with anglers permitted a maximum of three rods.

Rockford is known mostly for carp – and for good reason. Specimen bream, tench, pike, and perch are also found in these waters.

This is a members-only lake, with no tickets available for guests.

What size do the fish go to?

Rockford Lake has boasted carp up to 60 pounds, with a number of them ranging from 40 to 30 pounds.

Specimen bream up to 15 pounds, tench up to a dozen pounds, and pike over 28 pounds also roam Rockford.

What tactics work well?

Night fishing is available at Rockford with a permit.

Anglers may spend a maximum of five consecutive nights fishing. After that, they must leave the premises for at least 48 hours before returning.

Keepnets are only allowed during match competitions.

Unhooking mats must be used.

Do not fish in the designated area on the west bank. Night fishing is not permitted in the southwest corner.

No camping, boating, bathing, fires, bait boats, or dogs allowed at Rockford Lake.

There are toilets on the premises.
