Fishery Information

Scarborough Mere is a beautiful three lake complex set into the natural beauty of the Weaponness Valley in Scarborough. The main lake is 9 acres in size and is home to the largest fish at this venue. There is also the match lake, which is controlled by Scarborough Mere Angling Club but is a day ticket venue as well. The third lake is a 3-acre water and is home to some very nice fish as well.

What size do the fish go to?

The largest fish in the main lake go to 30lbs, and this includes carp and pike. There is also plenty of 20lb carp in this lake and loads of double-figure carp as well.

The match lake also has plenty of double-figure carp and loads of carp to about 10lbs too. There is also bream to 14lbs and tench to 10lbs. There is also loads of roach and rudd in both of these lakes, and some stunning perch too.

Ski Lake is also home to a beautiful 27lb pike that is quite challenging to get on the bank.

What tactics work well?

Recently, a member of the angling club remapped the main lake, and this is a brilliant resource for choosing an area to target. There are loads of islands to target, as well as no-fishing areas that the fish like to hide in. If you can get a PVA bag close to these areas, you can land a big one. For the more open areas, finding a clear spot and laying a good bed of bait down with some bottom baits is a brilliant option.

What facilities are on site?

A few pegs close to the carp park have disabled access.

Is parking available?

Parking is available close to the lake.
