Fishery Information

The Shillinglee Lake, managed by the Billingshurst Angling Society, is close to the Northchapel village. It is a beautiful 4-acre lake estate-type lake that serves as a sanctuary for local wildlife. The lake depth ranges from 4 feet at the end closest to the road to 14 feet nearest to the dam. It is home to a large population of Bream, Tench, Roach, large Perch, Rudd, Eels, and Pike, making it ideal for specimen as well as recreational anglers looking for a good time on the water.

The fishery is also the primary water used by the Billingshurst Angling Society for anglers who wish to target carp. It has Commons and Mirrors. In recent years, the club has also added to its stock of fish by introducing a few stunning Carp that were specifically handpicked. Although it is by no means an easy carp water, the rewards are there for those that try. Night Fishing is allowed on this venue to all members with a Night Permit.
