Fishery Information

Alfold Road Fisheries is a three lake complex in Cranleigh. The lakes are known as top, middle and bottom lakes, and big carp live in all three. However, each of the lakes is very approachable. If you have some carp angling experience, or you’re a dab hand at match angling, these lakes will quickly feel like home to you. There are the usual haunts for the big boys in each lake (islands and overhangs), and you’ll soon find the perfect spot to bait up.

Alfold Road is a season ticket venue only, with matches going on throughout the year. To keep the carp as healthy as possible, night fishing is only allowed during certain matches.

What size do the fish go to?

The carp at this complex go to 30lb plus. The tench here are about 5lbs, bream are the same. There are also some impressive roach, rudd and perch to catch. So, while most anglers come here for the carp, there is plenty more on offer too.

What tactics work well?

As most people fish Alfold Road for the carp, boilies are a must-have here. A bright bottom bait is a good idea as the water provides a lot of cover. Fishing to features is a great idea here. If your peg has an overhang in reach, it is well worth getting a PVA bag as close to it as possible; the carp love to hide in the overhangs here.

What facilities are on site?

No facilities on site currently, but there is a pub close by.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available at the lake.
