Fishery Information

Fishing, a caravan park, two miles of nature trails, and other outdoor activities are all available at the family-owned and operated Thorney Lakes, which first opened its doors in 1993.

For decades, The Lake has been one of Somerset’s best-kept secrets when it comes to fishing. It is the perfect spot for a little bit of fishing and watching wildlife because it is encircled and obscured by an array of diverse animals and trees.

The lake spans an area of 4 acres with a variety of coarse fish such as carp, bream, roach, tench, gudgeon, goldfish, chubb, perch, and eels.  You are free to fish from any location on the bank of Thorney Lakes because the lakes do not provide any pegs for anglers to use.

What size do the fish go to?

Up to 25lb

What tactics work well?

Free running rigs with coarse baits only, and barbless hooks. Landing mats are a must.

What facilities are on site?

There are restrooms on the premises, and, you can drive right up to the bankside, which will save you the trouble of carrying your fishing gear to the bank depending on the weather conditions.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
