Fishery Information

Whitfield Reservoir is part of Keighley Angling Club. While you have to be a member of the angling club to fish this water, it is well worth it. KAC gives you access to loads of popular lakes and rivers, with Whitfield Reservoir being one of the finest for various fish species. The lake is nice and quiet as it is up the top of a hill at Steeton. It is a peaceful lake, and not many anglers fish here. There are some big fish to catch here, but Whitfield Reservoir doesn’t hold the largest carp for the club members, hence why this is a largely untapped fishing venue.

What size do the fish go to?

We aren’t sure how big the carp go to at Whitfield Reservoir. We believe there are certainly carp to over 20lbs, but there could be larger ones. There are also some lovely sized tench and bream in this water. You can also target some good-sized perch here too.

What tactics work well?

It greatly depends on the fish species you want to target. Maggots are great for the bream, tench and perch. To target the larger ones, a closed feeder or cage feeder with maggots and groundbait are both really good options. Corn and hemp are ideal for attracting carp to a boilie here.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities at Whitfield Reservoir, but night fishing is available with a permit.

Is parking available?

Parking is available at Whitfield Reservoir on the side of the road.
