Fishery Information

RK Leisure presents the legendary Horton Complex, comprised of five different pools for fishing excellence.

One of the most high profile waters is the Horton Church Lake, a historic spot with over 100 carp.

Kingsmead One is a 30-acre lake as part of the Horton Complex. This spot features about 200 carp, including some famous specimens. Fishing is said to be tricky on Kingsmead One, but the rewards are great.

The Horton Boat Pool is a specialist catfish pond, featuring true British specimens.

The Island Lake is 65 acres of sublime angling. This features large weed beds and plenty of natural feed. It is considered one of the best boating lakes in the country.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp in the Horton Church Lake include 16 that weigh in over 40 pounds and 31 busting the scales at over 35. A fish known as “Tetley’s Common” weighs in over the 40-pound mark, while the legendary 16-pound Missing Mirror is so elusive it may not even exist.

There are two mirror weighing in over 50 pounds in Kingsmead One, one of which is “Starry’s” at 54 pounds and 14 ounces. The other, the “Scarred Mirror,” is 52 pounds and three ounces.

There are up to 60 catfish in Horton Boat Pool weighing over 92 pounds, while some 50 carp reach up to the 45 pound mark.

400 fish average over the 30-pound mark in Island Lake, with 10 over 40 pounds. The largest fish in the pool is over 51 pounds.
