Fishery Information

Consisting of three lakes for residents only, the gorgeous Lemington Lakes is a getaway from the everyday.

Nestled in the Cotswold, this is a fishing and holiday facility constructed on 60 acres of woodland with various corners and passages to explore. There’s plenty to do for anglers and non-anglers alike, including accommodations in the form of caravans and bed and breakfast rooms in the Cotswold stone house.

Abbey Lake is a three-acre pleasure lake, with a good stock of homegrown carp mixed with crucians, rudd, and a quality source of roach. Abbey Lake is apt for all abilities, with stocks checked in the winter months.

Sunset Lake is perfect for tench lovers. This two-acre spot is dotted with four sunken islands and has gently sloping margins of five feet.

Finally, Priory Pool is just three-quarters of an acre but it boasts an all-natural surrounding that is hard to beat. Anglers will fall in love with the setting as they plunge into what is warmly known as the “crucian pool.” Along with the crucians, explorers will find roach, rudd, and tench.

What size do the fish go to?

Homegrown carp up to 20 pounds can be found in Abbey Lake, along with a robust stock of roach that range between one and three pounds. Bream up to seven pounds are also common in this lake.

Sunset Lake has tench from four to eight pounds, while Priory Pool is stocked with some large roach up to two pounds.

What tactics work well?

Float fishing with corn or worms on Sunset Lake yields some pretty fantastic results, with light fishing the recommended approach. The tench love hanging out near the islands.

On Priory Pool, light fishing with caster, pellets, corn, or maggots comes highly prized. Anglers may have to thread the proverbial needle for the best results, as light approaches generate big hauls.

Lemington Lakes has accommodations on site, including self-catering chalets and bed and breakfast rooms in the house. Caravans are also available for rent, so anglers can really put up for a great stay at this well-manicured complex.
