Fishery Information

Known for coarse fishing, this beautiful lake is situated in the grounds of Bath Spa University. To get there, from Bath, take the A4 towards Bristol. At the roundabout to the Globe Inn, take the A39 towards Marksbury. Next, turn left into the college grounds and follow the road to the car park on the left. Access to Newton Park is opposite the car park. Please keep to the footpath.

Day tickets must be marked with dates and membership numbers, and deposited in the ticket box provided.

This lake is an excellent spot for carp, eel, pike, roach and silver bream fishing. It is one of the few U.K. fisheries that hold rare silver bream with specimens to over 1 lb (verified by E. A.).

Night fishing isn’t allowed here and they do not offer access for disabled people.

This fishery is a must-visit for those who enjoy catching hard fighting fish.

What size do the fish go to?

This lake is stocked with carp that weigh up to 30 lbs. It also holds roach that weigh up to 3 lbs and a few big chub that weigh over 6 lbs. Winter is a good time to catch pike that are over 20 lbs.
