Fishery Information

Kirton Hall Lake is a 6-acre fishery near Ipswich, Suffolk. The lake is in the heart of the countryside, flanked by old oak trees and peace and quiet. This is an old estate lake with just as much character as fish! There are 54 pegs on this lake, most of which are stable wooden platforms. The reeds create some cover between you and the next angler in the summer months, so you feel as though you are fishing alone.

What size do the fish go to?

This lake has some stunningly beautiful fish in it. The carp go up to about 30lbs, there are tench to 10lbs, bream to 7lb, perch to nearly 4lbs and good sized roach, rudd and Crucian carp as well. This may not be a lake for the carp anglers, but it certainly makes for a great day’s fishing!

What tactics work well?

While carp fishing tactics can work well on this lake, it is all about match-style fishing here. Pole, float or feeder fishing all work brilliantly, but every day is different. The carp certainly like a good bed of bait to sniff around in, and this usually gets the bigger fish feeding.

Throughout the many matches on this lake, all of the pegs have performed well. So there is no particular hotspot on this lake. It is all to do with the angler, the day and how the lake is fishing.

What facilities are on site?

None at the moment.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
