What tactics work well?

The specific tactics that work well at this water can vary depending on the angler’s preferences and the fishing conditions. However, common tactics for targeting the stocked species include using a variety of baits such as pellets, maggots, worms, or corn. Techniques like float fishing, feeder fishing, or pole fishing can be effective depending on the angler’s skill and the fishing situation.

Anglers are advised to obtain the necessary key in advance to ensure access to the parking area. Please follow any parking regulations and park in designated areas to ensure convenience and maintain good relations with the local authorities and other anglers.

It is important to note that the committee requires written consent for any vegetation removal, cutting back, or trimming in or around the lake. Members must submit a successful application to the St Helens Rangers to obtain consent. This helps preserve the natural environment and ensures the proper management of the fishery.
